After witnessing yet another serious collision this morning, I question the current 40 mph speed limit on the stretch of Gibbet hill road going from the University roundabout(junction with Leighfield Rd.) to the roundabout junction with the A429.
The stretch in question, connects two parts of the UoW campus and serves local residents too. It is used by pedestrians and cyclists, as well as cars and buses. The road is narrow and I see no reason to have a 40 mph speed limit in place. 30 mph would be more appropriate, maybe combined with speed calming devices.
