I live on Torrington Avenue and the entrance/exit to Costco is a disaster, the amount of illegal turns I have seen people do it shocking, not only to get into Costco but to get out. The current entrance can only be entered legally by the A45 coming from the Canley fire station roundabout. I have seen cars coming down Torrington avenue and complete a right turn into the oncoming exit lane for Costco. This is not the only illegal turn I have seen as I have also witnesses those coming out of Costco in which do not want to go the A45 way and want to go down Torrington Avenue (left turn), there are signs saying this is not allowed and the curb is even there to try and block them going this way and it has been heightened. I have seen a few cards have parts of their car broken off because of this. It is a very dangerous section of Torrington Avenue.
My main focus for this petition is the parking on Torrington Avenue for those that live there. I have seen many cars parking outside the houses there exiting their vehicles and walking over to Costco to shop. I am not the only one who has noticed this and many residents along Torrington are also frustrated, including the Torrington chip shop at the end as it also blocks his customers from parking outside his shop. He has many photos of this, including those who have taken the trollies from Costco to their car to fill up. Costco have a blocking system in their car park and the trollies should not be able to be taken off premises. The reason why shoppers from Costco are parking on Torrington Avenue is they cannot get into Costco if they come from Torrington Avenue way rather than from the A45 and cannot be bothered to go down the A45 and round the roundabout to come back up again. There has been many times my partner and I have had to park 10 houses away as we could not get close to parking outside out house.
