Dear Coventry council I am a cyclist and also a car user.
I have been cut up by other road users especially at the junction of Leicester Causeway & Stoney Stanton Road.
Although you have a no right turn sign on the canal bridge on Stoney Stanton Road & also on Leicester Causeway.
Many drivers of all vehicles have been ignoring the no right turn signs on both roads & I have been nearly knocked off my cycle & also cut up by other ignorant vehicle users who continued to ignore the no right turn signs.
I am not the only victim of a near miss on this junction.
Sorry to say that if this junction of Stoney Stanton Road & Leicester Causeway is not closed off with a barrier like on Pridmore Road, there will be fatalities caused by dangerous drivers in any vehicles.
You had the bridge resurfaced just over a year ago & the word slow was put in the wrong position in the direction of the city centre.
You should have closed the junction of Leicester Causeway off completely with Stoney Stanton Road.
Many Innocent people & innocent road users could be seriously hurt or even killed if you do not block this junction off completely & immediately.
If nothing is done by blocking the junction you will have family's of seriously injured victims & those who have lost their lives blaming you as well as the dangerous drivers.
So action must be taken now because this is a very serious matter as safety must come first to all of us innocent people who walk around the area & also safe drivers who obey the road signs & markings.
Please notify all departments in the council immediately that we demand that Leicester Causeway junction & Stoney Stanton Road should be blocked off to all vehicles on the road as there will be people seriously hurt or killed if you don't take our request for our safety seriously?
Thank you.
Your sincerely
Darren Higginson.
