To turn Chace Avenue & London Road into a traffic lighted T-junction, No Closure!

It has come to light that a local resident has setup a petition to get the junction on Chace Avenue that meets the London Road closed because of many drivers illegally turning right out of the junction. I agree that this isn't good because they are making illegal right turns and second it could cause an accident or worse. however I don't agree that the junction should be closed off as this is for many local residents their main route to work and it would cause more congestion at peak times on St James' Lane.
The best solution for the problem would be to make the junction into a traffic lighted T-Junction the same as the one further up the road currently being used on St James' Lane/London Road (where the post office and chip shop is)
This would then stop people making illegal right turns into 2 lanes of on coming traffic, it would also help slow drivers down who use the London Road as a race track even with the speed checking cameras which have been installed and it would also solve the other residents issue of people using Carnegie Close and the Chace Hotel's car park as a turning place.
I strongly believe this is the best solution for all and hope that Coventry City Council and the local residents agree, Thank you.
