As a resident on the new Brambles estate off Blackbery Lane in Wyken Coventry the residents are petitioning for the council to implement road improvements and safety measures to stop the potential of death or injury.
Since the estate has had residents, it has become apparent that the junction of Blackberry Lane and Kare Road is dangerous! Drivers often exceed the speed on Blackberry lane and on the blind corner of the junction in question. Residents pulling out of Kare Road and turning leftin a car or crossing the road on foot are exposed to increased risk of death or injury due to lack of sight round the corner and further increased through the speeding of drivers.
Several accidents have already occurred and near misses to vehicles and pedestrians at this junction.
We propose that the council needs to urgently implement road safety measures.
Possible solutions would be speed humps or even at least a mirror on the opposite side of the junction to allow drivers to see a speeding driver.
It is only a matter of time before a death occurs!!!!!!!!
