In 2011, following a petition on road safety in the area, approval for a reduction in the speed limit on Allesley Old Road to 30 mph was given. A speed activated sign on the east ward approach near the junction with Winsford Ave was therefore installed. However on the west bound approach into Allesley Old Road, there is no sign advertising the reduced 30mph speed limit. Speeds on Allesley Old Road are still too high.
