Increase car parking spaces in Morgans Road

I moved in to Morgans Road over 10 years ago and there were issues with car parking within the street back then. Since then a number of new families have moved in and more cars are now competing for the few regular spaces we have. This issue has been particularly bad for the last 3 to 4 years. This has meant that the grass verges are being cut up by cars, especially in the wet. Minor damage has occurred to cars with scrapes and damaged wing mirrors. There is also an increased risk to the small children in the street when playing and crossing the roads due to reduced visibility from parked cars. There has already been one occasion that we know of so far when an ambulance was called for a child who had to be carried on a stretcher in the snow to the opposite end of the street as the ambulance could not get through. It concerns the residents that emergency vehicles can not always get through. We are a friendly neighbourhood but the worsening conditions has caused some friction between households and being "blocked in" is a constant problem. The most recent incident was when one resident had his van broken into which may not have occurred if he was able to park anywhere near his home. For most of us this is not the case.
We would like to increase car parking spaces by removing some of the grass verge areas.
