We believe the proposals to turn the back garden of Broadway Mansions into a car park are unacceptable for several reasons. From an environmental point of view it is destructive and harmful to wildlife as well as negatively affecting the local landscape character, turning what part of what is a residential area into a 9 place car park with associated noise pollution. Also the access requirements are woefully insufficient, using the exisiting back alleyway that is not designed for traffic of this volume. There is a need for green space in the city and a fear the run off from tarmacking this over could lead to further flooding issues.
