Having commuted for work purposes over a number of months I have seen several near misses involving pedestrians and cars on the road the is opposite the main entrance to the Railway Station and the boarded, pedestrian area.
Although the road is raised, it is not officially a pedestrian crossing and as such it causes confusion between both drivers and pedestrians.
Drivers speed around the corner and there is no indicator to them of pedestrians crossing. and similarly to those wanting to cross there is no way of stopping the traffic. It becomes pot luck when trying to cross.
