On the 13/04/2017 the planning committee will decide whether to uphold the planning department's decision to deny change of use for Unit 10 Bishopsgate Business Park, on Widdrington Road, reference FUL/2017/0121. The change of use, if allowed to go ahead, will convert an industrial unit into a gymnastics studio who's focus is on children. I, along with every one I have spoken to so far, don't believe that this is a safe or suitable location for a gymnastics studio.

It could make Widdrington Road even more dangerous, with up to 750 extra cars a week turning into the industrial park.
A working industrial park is not a safe place for children due to vans and HGVs
There isn't enough parking to accommodate the staff and parents – this will impact residents
Poor lighting in the industrial park – will cause visibility issues in winter potentially resulting in injuries.
Widdrington Road is already very dangerous – residents have been concerned for several years.
Up to 750 extra cars a week will be visiting the site – this could cause even more congestion.
Quad bikers and car drivers have often used the business park as a race track – this happened during proposed opening times.
Incorrect information has been submitted on the proposal – the applicant has stated the smallest class size only to make parking seem like it's not an issue, the opening times they propose do not match, and they have plans in the future for a coffee shop which isn't mentioned in the proposal.
